All Mozart Evening, Repertoire includes:
Symphony No. 35 ("Haffner"), K.385
Violin Concerto No. 5 ("Turkish"), K.219
Three German Dances, K605 Contradances, K.609
Arias and duets from Il re pastore, Le Nozze di Figaro, and La clemenza di Tito
Mozart's music ranks among the greates achievements of human culture. Using Mozart's letters as a guide, this performance re-creates 18th century programming practices. Mozart's great "Haffner" symphony and "Turkish" violin concerto anchor a program as varied as it is unified. It is "short-attention-span theater" from the 1700's and it's a fascinatingly refreshing take on the concert experience.
“Talk-Back” after the concert!
Join Michael Butterman, Brian Lewis, Adriana Zabala, and Bonnie Draina for a “talk-back” session after the concert. This is your chance to ask questions or comment on the program! This session will take place in Macky immediately after the concert in lieu of the Tea House reception. |
