$5 Kid/Student Tickets
The Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra enjoys making concerts affordable for the entire family by offering $5 tickets to our classical concerts for children K-12 and students with ID. Our concerts are enriching for both children and adults, and a concert event is a memorable experience for families that will be remembered for years to come.
Listening to music has many benefits. It improves children's development in a variety of ways: |
|
increases memory, promotes good health, advances motor and rhythmic skills, helps articulate emotion and mood and boosts spatial-temporal reasoning.Research studies have shown positive effects with the correlation between classical music and enhancing a child's brain to score better on standardized tests from pre-school to high school.
Family Packs
We are also offering 4 for $28* family packs to our classical concerts. This is an easy and affordable way to expose your children to classical music (and if you have to leave during intermission it is still a great value).
*Orchestra 4 or Loge 3 sections only. |
Classroom Concerts
During the school year, the Boulder Philharmonic Classroom Concerts Program is available for schools in the Boulder County Area. This program makes it possible for a smaller chamber ensemble, such as a string quartet, a woodwind quintet, or a brass quintet, to perform a concert for the children and educate them about music and musical instruments. If you are interested in having this program implemented in your school, please have a teacher contact Jillian Crandall, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, at 303-449-1343 x 125. |
Community Outreach Concerts
Our community outreach concerts are perfect for kids of all ages. These concerts are free and open to the general public.
October 7, 2007 Free Family Concert
The Boulder Philharmonic's Woodwind Quintet will perform at the Boulder Public Library's Canyon Theater (1000 Canyon Blvd) at 4:00 pm and will last approximately one hour. This concert is designed for families to experience a live and up-close performance programmed especially for children. Families will learn together about music and the instruments of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra's woodwind section.

Family Concerts
In order to educate young potential musicians about music, the Boulder Philharmonic each year hosts a concert or a series of concerts programmed specifically for children and their families.
This year we are presenting The Alien Encounter on January 27, 2008. A friendly alien from the planet Schnarp! visits Macky. They are forming an orchestra on his home planet and he wants to join, but has no idea what an orchestra is all about. Bring the whole family. |
