| Join us for Opening Night as the Boulder Phil honors heroes from American history and today, featuring a multimedia portrait of Abraham Lincoln, the Civil War and the ongoing struggle for freedom, justice and equality. Copland’s Lincoln Portrait will be complemented by powerful photochoreography by James Westwater and live narration by actor, professional storyteller and Emmy-nominee Bill Mooney. Bravo! Colorado, a piece dedicated to the memory of Gerald Ford, reflects the beauty of majestic mountains, alpine gardens and whitewater—a fitting soundtrack for our beautiful state. Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 3 “Eroica” celebrates the hero within each of us. FREE Musical Insights: 10:00 a.m. - SuperListening Club with Don Campbell Please note venue change: the first SuperListening Club of the season will be held at the Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut St., in the East Theater. Plenty of free parking is available. 6:30 p.m. - Pre-Concert Talk with Don Campbell, Macky Auditorium We are also proud to be partnering with local service organizations for an original work of photochoreography accompanying Copland's iconic Fanfare for the Common Man, celebrating the volunteers and staff who make these organizations' good deeds possible. Join us in saying "Bravo Boulder!" to these area non-profits:
