Go behind the scenes with our favorite piano duo – Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Joy Roe! Join us for a virtual chat hosted by Maestro Michael Butterman to discover the inspiration behind the pair’s electrifying music videos. 

The virtual event will begin with a Musical Mixology lesson from Greg and Liz as they lead us in the creation of original, music-inspired craft cocktails. Cheers!

If you do not add on the hors d’oeuvres delivery you can still join in making the cocktails! Here is what you will need:

Basil Paloma

  • 2 basil leaves (or mint, if preferred)
  • 1 grapefruit segment (optional)
  • 2 ounces silver tequila
  • Juice of 1/2 lime (approx. 1/2 oz)-
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup or 1/4 ounce agave nectar
  • 3 oz grapefruit juice
  • Soda water

Optional: first salt the rim of a highball glass. Place 2 basil leaves and 1 grapefruit segment in a highball glass and muddle gently. Add 2 ounces silver tequila, juice of 1/2 lime, and 1/2 oz simple syrup. Stir gently. Add ice, 3 ounces grapefruit juice and soda to top. Stir gently again and enjoy!

New Old Fashioned

  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 5 dashes of bitters
  • 2 peach slices
  • 2 1/2 oz bourbon
  • 2 blackberries
  • Splash of soda water

In an old-fashioned glass, combine the simple syrup, bitters, and one peach slice and muddle well. Add the bourbon and fill the glass with ice cubes. Add the second peach slice, the blackberries, and soda water and stir to combine.

Grammy-winning cellist Zuill Bailey returns to Boulder for the first of two programs with the Phil. Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Ellen Taaffe Zwilich’s new concerto, written for Zuill, is full of playful jazz and pop influences. We’re pleased to present the premiere of a chamber-sized revision of the concerto, mirroring the instrumentation of one of the great chamber works in the repertoire, Schubert’s Trout Quintet.
