George Walker’s Lyric for Strings is elegiac and consoling, the perfect music for our current moment. Also on the program, composer Korine Fujiwara’s story of a trailblazing and inspirational female artist, Camille Claudel, is brought to life by string orchestra with the extraordinary dancers at Frequent Flyers® Aerial Dance! The evening concludes with Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, presented in a stunning version for string sextet by Beethoven’s contemporary, M.G. Fischer.
