We open with Gershwin’s famous travelogue—An American in Paris—full of memorable, energetic tunes. Then you’ll hear Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F highlighted by dazzling improvisation.

Billy Childs is a multi-GRAMMY® award winning jazz pianist, composer, and arranger, and the Boulder Phil will be privileged to present the world premiere of his new violin concerto, written specifically for the renowned soloist Rachel Barton Pine. Anchoring the evening will be Beethoven’s ever-popular Symphony No. 7, a work dubbed “the apotheosis of the dance” because of its propulsive energy and infectious rhythms.
