Musical Hike: Mystic Mountains: A Musical Journey @ NCAR

The Boulder Phil and the City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks (OSMP) have created an ongoing collaboration to connect community members with the natural world through music. This partnership includes guided musical hikes designed to complement specific works to be performed by the Boulder Phil. The hikes are free and open to the public.

When the Boulder Philharmonic plays Alan Hovhaness’s 2nd Symphony: Mysterious Mountain at its next concert, it will transport your mind to faraway places and spectacular vistas. Join OSMP naturalist Dave Sutherland for a free pre-concert nature hike to sample this and other music, and explore how composers are drawn to the mountains.  How would you use music to capture the essence of Boulder’s mountains?

Meet at the NCAR parking lot at the western end of Table Mesa Drive.
