The Boulder Philharmonic believes that live orchestral music is for everyone and is committed to providing a wide array of opportunities for people throughout our community to encounter the life-enriching power of classical music.
The Boulder Phil takes students in grades 3-6 on a journey to explore orchestral music in a themed, exciting and interactive program led by Music Director, Michael Butterman!
Phil Learning Center
Join Music Director Michael Butterman as he leads the Phil Learning Center. Geared towards adults, this program will offer insight into the world of orchestral music, providing our patrons with listening and learning tools to appreciate music from a unique perspective.
Storytime with the Phil
Curl up with your little ones to enjoy Storytime with the Phil! Join Boulder Phil musicians and staff as we present a series of music-focused books for children. Selections in English and Spanish.
The Boulder Philharmonic, in partnership with Integral Steps (early education and Dalcroze Eurhythmics specialists) and Boulder County Head Start (preschool program for low-income families), has created an interactive introduction for preschoolers to the world of orchestral music.
Joined by CU Boulder’s Composition Department head Carter Pann and his graduate students, this program brings the world of music composition to high school students, resulting in original works by the high schoolers and performed by Boulder Phil musicians!
Young Artist Concerto Competition
The Phil’s bi-annual competition is open to current high school students in the State of Colorado. The winner of the Young Artist Concerto Competition will be a featured soloist with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and cash prizes are available for the top three finalists! Our next competition will take place in January 2023.
The Boulder Phil make access to our performances easy through $10 tickets for students. Our Pre-Concert Talks provide an opportunity for adult audience members to get “inside the music” before our classical programs.
