“Meet the Maestro” with Michael Butterman @ Boulder Public Library, Canyon Theater | Boulder | Colorado | United States

Join Boulder Philharmonic Music Director Michael Butterman for an inside look at the orchestra.

In addition to exploring what happens inside the concert hall, we’ll also see how orchestral music used in movies can help drive the overall story and shape the way we feel about characters and events. From the piccolo to percussion, the endless palette of sounds and textures found in the orchestra makes movies come alive!

We’ll learn about the basics of the orchestra and how it functions, as well as the important role that the conductor plays. We’ll finish with an advance look at the musical magic created by Pixar Studios that will be featured in the Boulder Phil’s Pixar in Concert performance on March 23.

Free and open to the public.

This event is a collaboration with the Boulder International Film Festival and is part of the BIFF Youth Pavilion at the Boulder Public Library, March 1-3. Click here for more information.
