COVID-19 Health & Safety Protocols

The Boulder Phil has developed protocols to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Our policies continue to be guided by current recommendations from Boulder County Public Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health.

  • All patrons age 12 and up must be fully vaccinated by the date of performance. “Full vaccination” means the performance date must be at least 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Children 11 and under must show proof of full vaccination, or, for those who have not had adequate time to receive their full vaccine doses or are ineligible to receive a vaccination, may instead provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time. Home testing kit or rapid test results will not be accepted for entry.
  • Audience members must wear masks at all times. Masks must fully cover the nose and mouth. Should a mask be worn improperly during a concert, our ushers will request that you adjust accordingly.
  • Ticket holders who do not comply with this policy will not be admitted. Refunds will not be provided due to lack of required entry materials.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 (with or without symptoms), are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or believe you have been exposed to COVID-19 at any time in the 10 days leading up to your performance date, please do not attend. Full refunds are available by contacting the Box Office at 303.449.1343 up to 4 hours prior to the start of the performance.

Upon arrival at the hall, please be prepared to show 3 things for entry:

  • Your ticket (either printed or on your smartphone)
  • Vaccination card (hardcopy, myColorado app, or mobile phone)
  • Photo ID to enter performances. Patrons under the age of 18 who do no not possess a photo ID must be accompanied by an adult.

For further details regarding our policies, please see the FAQs below. Note that with the constantly evolving nature of the pandemic, all policies are subject to change and adjust in accordance with public health guidance. If any policy change makes you uncomfortable, or if you or someone in your party is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, please call our Box Office at 303-449-1343 ex.0 to return your tickets for a refund or convert your tickets to a donation no later than 4 hours prior to the event. We thank you in advance for your understanding as we continue to ensure the health and safety of our musicians, staff and patrons.

Updated 12/1/21

When should I arrive at the venue?

We encourage patrons to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. This will allow ample time for our staff and volunteers to check vaccination status, as well as encourage spacing of patrons entering the venue.

What is the Boulder Philharmonic doing to ensure my safety at performances?

We are working closely with Boulder County Health and our performance venues to implement safety protocols in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements. All of our staff, musicians, guest artists, and volunteers have been fully vaccinated.

How long will these policies be in place?

These policies were put into place on December 1, 2021, and will remain in effect until further notice.  All ticket holders will receive direct communications regarding any changes to our policies in advance of their performance.

What are the Boulder Philharmonic’s masking policies?

Masking will be required for all audience members, staff, and volunteers, unless otherwise exempt from wearing a mask due to a disability, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.).

What do I need to verify my vaccination status?

All audience members must provide proof of vaccination as well as photo ID.  Types of vaccination verification accepted:

  • Physical vaccination card
  • Digital vaccination record
  • Photo or scan of physical vaccination card

Acceptable forms of Photo ID (all must be the physical card – photocopies are NOT accepted.):

  • Driver’s licenses, or state ID cards for non-drivers, issued by a state’s Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Formal ID cards WITH photo (armed forces, police, student union)
  • Student ID card with photo
  • Company ID card with photo
  • Passport or Passport card
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Tribal ID card

Will there be reasonable accommodations for vaccinations due to medical conditions, disability, or religious practices?

A patron with a documented medical condition, disability, or genuinely held religious belief, practice, or observance that prevents them from taking the vaccine will only be admitted if they provide ALL of the following:

  • Printed and signed COVID-19 Vaccination Exemption Accommodation Form available on our website (here). Anyone who requests such accommodation (for themselves or their minor child or ward) must bring this completed and signed form, i.e., one form per requesting individual.
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time was administered by an official testing center. Home testing kits or Rapid/Antigen test results will not be accepted for entry.
  • Photo ID that matches your negative test results. Acceptable forms of Photo ID are listed under “What do I need to verify my vaccination status?”
  • Masks that fully cover the nose and mouth are required regardless of accommodation for all patrons ages 2 and up.
